Finally, it’s here, a cellulite reduction and skin smoothing injection…QWO®!
For many women there is nothing more frustrating than the appearance of cellulite on their buttocks. The “cottage cheese” appearance of cellulite is unattractive and difficult to treat. Clinical studies demonstrates that QWO® works in 3 ways:
- Releasing fibrous bands
- Redistributing fat cells
- Stimulating the growth of new collagen
At Chameleon Medical Spa, Dr. Boyd and his skincare specialists are excited to offer the first and only FDA-approved injectable to address moderate-to-severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women.
WHAT IS CELLULITE?
Cellulite is a natural part of a woman’s body and is just part of our biology. Yes, it is true that most women will develop cellulite in their lifetime – about nine out of ten women. Women typically develop cellulite in their buttocks, hips, and thighs.
Cellulite is also more common with aging, when the skin loses elasticity. Some men also are troubled with cellulite, but it is far more common in women. Cellulite is caused when the connective tissue bands beneath a person’s skin and surrounding the fat cells becomes tight resulting in the skin being pulled down and creating skin depressions. Next, the trapped and enlarged fat cells push up against the skin causing cellulite. As you age the skin begins to thin and the appearance of cellulite becomes more pronounced.
Clients often mistakenly believe that cellulite is caused by excess fat. Unfortunately, no matter how much you work out, eat healthy, apply creams, or wish it away cellulite won’t budge unless you get to the source. Important facts to remember:
- Cellulite isn’t fat.
- It isn’t caused by what, or how much you eat.
- It isn’t caused because you aren’t exercising enough.
- QWO® is the most clinically studied and the first and only FDA-approved injectable treatment for cellulite
- Non-surgical moderate to severe cellulite treatment with visible results achieved in 10 weeks*
- Multiple treatments are recommended for optimal results*
- Little or no post-treatment or downtime required*
Dr. Boyd advises his patients that no amount of dieting or exercise will cause cellulite to shrink or go away. But QWO® cellulite reduction and skin smoothing injections may be the answer for you. Schedule your consultation to determine if you are a candidate.
WHAT IS QWO AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
QWO® works by using two types of collagen-degrading enzymes that break the fibrous bands down which connect the skin to the muscle. The tethers will gradually dissolve which means the skin will float up and smooth out. Up to 24 dimples may be treated every treatment. Results are typically seen after 71 days.*
QWO® is injected directly into targeted dimples in the buttocks using a small needle. QWO® cellulite treatment is an in-office procedure, and the treatments are scheduled about 21 days apart.*
Patients experience mild to moderate discomfort including; injection site bruising, pain, areas of hardness, itching, redness, discoloration, swelling and warmth in the treatment area.*
IS QWO® SAFE?
QWO® is FDA-approved to treat moderate-to-severe cellulite in the buttocks of adult women. QWO® has been studied in more patients than any other cellulite treatment, with over 1,800 women participating. “In two pivotal phase 3 clinical studies of adult women with moderate to severe cellulite, 424 were treated with QWO and 419 received placebo.”1
The injections are safe for women of all skin tones and colors. Individuals who are allergic to any collagenase or the ingredients in QWO®, have an active infection at the treatment area, or a bleeding problem should not use QWO®. Please inform Dr. Boyd if you are pregnant or may become pregnant, nursing or plan to nurse. He will decide if you are a candidate for QWO® or should breastfeed.
During your consultation, our team will evaluate your medical history and goals to determine if QWO® is right for you.
