Facial Skin Exfoliation System
Dermaplane is a safe, non-invasive treatment which uses a special tool applied at a forty-five degree angle to the face while holding the skin taut to remove vellus hair (peach fuzz), as well as any dead skin cells. The Dermaplane system is used to exfoliate the skin, revealing radiant and healthier looking skin. Regular Dermaplane treatments can help restore and renew your face and can be used on all skin types!
What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is recommended to treat dry, rough skin, acne scars, uneven skin tone, large pores, and fine lines. Dermaplaning is a safe, effective treatment for overall skin rejuvenation. It can produce a smoother skin texture and a clearer complexion, while minimizing fine lines and minor scars.
What are the Benefits of Dermaplane?
Facial hair often causes a buildup of dirt and oils in the follicles. Dermaplane removes the hair to reveal healthier skin. Also, with the removal of the epidermal skin skincare products can penetrate more readily into the deeper layers. Dermaplaning enhances the effectiveness of other skincare treatments such as chemical peels and Diamond Tip Microdermabrasion by providing deeper product penetration.
Although a Dermaplane facial doesn’t have the ability to remove deep wrinkles or scars, it can reduce the fine wrinkles that can begin to develop over time. Dermaplane is performed as a standalone treatment or prior to other skincare treatments to enhance their effectiveness. This is a wonderful form of exfoliation that can be used with or without chemicals.
Dermaplane is an excellent MedSpa procedure that:
- Removes soft facial hair that traps dirt and oil
- Promotes healthier skin
- Promotes smoother skin
- Reduces recent acne scars
- Reduces fine lines
- Produces results with little or no downtime*
What Can I Expect with My Dermaplane Procedure?
Because it is a quick procedure with few to no adverse effects, it has quickly gained popularity in the MedSpa industry. Using a scalpel and a delicate touch, our aesthetician simply abrades the surface of the skin using light feathering strokes. Many patients are often concerned that the hair will grow back heavier and darker after Dermaplaning. This is not the case. As long as the hair is superficial vellus hair, it will grow back at the same rate and texture as before the treatment.*
The biggest advantage associated with Dermaplane is that there is little or no downtime associated with this procedure. It is important for the patient to understand the importance of using sunscreen to reduce the chance of hyperpigmentation. Dermaplaning can be done as often as every two weeks, although it is usually done when vellus hair starts to grow back, which is generally in one month’s time.*
